I want to mount a small LCD TV on a bracket in my kitchen. I only have a small area and want the flat screen TV and bracket to be flush with the wall when not in use. I also want to be able to take advantage of my cable subscription services (e.g., HBO, etc.) and HD channels which require the use of a rather bulky cable convertor box. If I mount the cable conversion box inside a cabinet and use an IR extender cable, I’m going to incur a lot of extra cost (i.e., putting a power supply inside the cabinet, wiring incoming cable coax into the cabinet, outputting an HDMI cable and IR extender cable out of the cabinet, etc.) It would be MUCH easier if I had a – compact – converter box mounted right next to the TV on the bracket! Does anyone have any suggestions? Cablevision indicated they only supply a full size converter box, but maybe FIOS has a more compact solution. Ideally, I’d like to just solve the problem with Cablevision, though, and I’m hoping someone out there has a solution so suggest. Thanks for your help.
